Many of the materials I use are found and foraged from the kitchen, the garden, or the great outdoors; and I love to work in a free and gestural way to capture the essence of the landscapes, flora and fauna that are accessible to us all.”



When we step outdoors we walk on rock, soil & sand; we see plants and petals, twigs & trees – not only do we gain inspiration from these things, but the most magical thing is that we can use them to create our own fabulous, natural, sustainable art materials!”

At the seaside you can sketch in the sand, find burnt driftwood to use as charcoal, make a seaweed paintbrush dipped in seawater. Very often you will discover clays and ochres which even our earliest ancestors used to express their artistic vision on the walls of caves.”
