This 2019 exhibition of original works at Derby University marked the end of Pippa’s residency in which she worked alongside and lectured their third year MA Illustration students. Through the AA2A programme Pippa was able to share tips and techniques from her experience of working with publishers and agents to write and illustrate for the children’s picturebook market. She was also able to access the Graphics Department’s excellent library, printmaking facilities, and workspaces.
Another Angle explored the possibilities of seeing print and colour in a different way, inviting the viewer to question the assumption that the displayed artwork must conform to strict “societal norms” of level and plumb. Angles of variance from the expected line were marked directly on the wall in pencil; the fixing and measuring tools left on display.
The exhibition launch event was attended by fellow AA2A artists, students, faculty members and schoolchildren.
