This glossy auction catalogue for St Mary’s & St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School in Bamber Bridge documented the learning journey and creative output of two whole year groups. Parents received a copy in advance of the big day, contributing to a tremendous level of attendance and engagement. Profits from the sale of prints and artworks went towards buying cameras for the school.
Notebook was a one-off magazine published to record a literary festival that encompassed the whole school. Pippa led workshops with some classes, but needed to liaise with other practitioners and teaching staff to present a complete picture of this highly successful project. Compiling quotes, images and facts about each activity ahead of the print deadline was a real challenge! Every child received their own copy to remind them of a fabulous term!
The Travel Writers is an original storybook written and illustrated in collaboration with Reception and Year 1 children from Padiham Primary School. See Pippa’s post about the book launch here. When Pippa produces a book this way the concept, story and style are always responsive to the needs and abilities of the children. They have a real sense of ownership of the finished book.

This storybook was made in the chapter style familiar to the Year 2 readers Pippa was working with. The focus was on descriptive writing and alliteration as the children immersed themselves in a magical undersea world inhabited by mermaids, mermen and monsters. They produced simple, but effective, pen & ink drawings to illustrate their text. Learn more about Pippa’s Storybook Writing Projects for Key Stage 1 here…
